WOODDALE AVENUE

This project required a bold and dramatic gesture to contend with and complement the large scale of the lot and home. The ultimate design sought to pull a once shallow landscape away from the house, to create a large central lawn area, and to create a soft but discernible planted buffer between the edge of the yard and the busy street beyond. The design took advantage of topographical variations in the site to create dramatic, irregularly angled planted spaces in which tall grasses would rise up from the sidewalk.
