LOS ANGELES STREET TREE SURVEY
PRAIRIEFORM was hired by LA Neighbors to conduct a survey of the existing street-tree canopy within the Los Angeles/West Hollywood neighborhood bound by Robertson, Burton, Doheny, and Beverly. The comprehensive study took stock of the canopy and where gaps existed. These gaps were treated as canopy infill opportunities. We then proposed a strategy for infill complete with a menu of street trees, whose selection was based equally on aesthetics, wildlife value, growth rate, ability to tolerate narrow parkways, and drought tolerance. The resulting plan will be used as a blueprint for guiding the future restoration of the urban forest canopy within this highly urbanized Los Angeles neighborhood.
