Longfellow Community Council votes to approve funding for first PRAIRIEFORM irrigation-free landscape
The Board of Directors of the Longfellow Community Council has voted to approve funding for the first PRAIRIEFORM irrigation-free landscape pilot. The project will be the first of its kind in the state of Minnesota. For more details on the project, click here.

PRAIRIEFORM and PlaceIt! at Nuit Blanche!
PRAIRIEFORM’s John Kamp, and James Rojas of PlaceIt! will be constructing an interactive model of the Twin Cities, their buildings, and landscapes, as part of Northern Spark’s Nuit Blanche event. Our installation is called Twin Cities Re-imagined. We’ll be setting up shop at the Science Museum on June 4 and will be there all night til the early morning hours. Mark your calendars, come by, and help us reimagine and reinvent good old MPLS and Saint Paul, their urban forms, and landscapes.

PRAIRIEFORM hired to conduct survey of street trees and to create tree infill plan for Los Angeles neighborhood
Los Angeles Neighbors has hired PRAIRIEFORM to conduct a comprehensive survey of the existing street-tree canopy within the neighborhood bounded by Robertson Boulevard, Burton Way, Doheny Boulevard, and Beverly Boulevard. From the survey we will be developing a detailed plan for strategically improving and restoring the tree canopy of the neighborhood. Stay tuned for visuals and updates.

Several new park projects funded under PROPOSITION 84
In partnership with Deborah Murphy Urban Design + Planning, Landscape Architect Jeannie Olander, and CRA LA, PRAIRIEFORM worked in early 2010 on the design and applpication for several new parks in some of LA's most park-poor areas. We have recently learned that the state has awarded funds to the Ord and Yale Street, Nevin Avenue Elementary, Slauson and Wall, and Vermont Median Parks. These new green spaces will be much-needed areas for repose and recreation in LA's neighborhoods that need them most.

PRAIRIEFORM installs several new projects
PRAIRIEFORM has just completed the installation work on two projects in Minneapolis, and one in Los Angeles. The project at Douglas Court sees PRAIRIEFORM tackling a particularly shady site, while Phase 2 of the Zenith Avenue Landscape employs our ultra-modern and patented "Prairie-meets-Provence" aesthetic. In Los Angeles, we have just installed a drought-tolerant container landscape at Courtney Avenue. Stay tuned for photos of this one.

PRAIRIEFORM Partners with Deborah Murphy Urban Design + Planning on Proposition 84 Efforts
PRAIRIEFORM is working with Deborah Murphy Urban Design + Planning on conducting outreach, and drafting preliminary designs for several parks in LA's park-poorest neighborhoods. Through Proposition 84, millions of dollars will be allocated towards the creation of new pocket parks in some of the state's most underserved communities, particularly in Los Angeles.

Beyond Ikea and Carl Larsson: The Wide (Wild) World of Swedish Design
Prairieform Principal Designer John Benjamin Kamp will lead a class at The Public School on expanding conceptions of Swedish design. The course will be taught with six Swedish designers, urban planners, architects, landscape archtiects, and engineers who are in Los Angeles installing an art exhibit entitled "The Fifth Ecology: Los Angeles Beyond Desire" at Gallery 727 in Downtown Los Angeles.
